Advice and investment custody

Investment contributions are made directly to regulated investment providers and financial institutions. ClearGauge’s role is to provide advice; it does not hold clients’ investment funds.

Before proceeding, understand the product, the registered owner, the custodian and any beneficiary arrangements. If a request to change banking details seems unusual, confirm it using the published contact details before acting.

Scope, remuneration and conflicts

Before an engagement begins, ClearGauge explains the work and how it will be compensated. Permitted remuneration is disclosed, and actual or potential conflicts are managed under the Conflict of Interest Policy.

Written advice should explain the client’s objectives and circumstances, the reasoning, relevant benefits and risks, and the alternatives considered. Specialist legal, tax, accounting or fiduciary matters require the appropriate professional.

Compliance oversight and insurance

The practice appoints an independent compliance practice and states that it maintains professional indemnity insurance. Prospective clients can request current details and discuss how the oversight applies to an engagement.
