Founder & Principal Adviser
Meet Werner
Gerber, CFA
For more than a decade I have worked with affluent South African families on investment and financial planning decisions. My work has included researching South African and international listed companies, advising on local and offshore portfolios, asset allocation and portfolio construction.

My approach to advice
I help individuals and families take a fresh look at their financial arrangements, starting with one important question:
Does my overall financial strategy still deserve my confidence?
ClearGauge gives that question a defined starting point through an independent Financial Clarity Review. Clients can consider the findings before deciding whether to change their arrangements or appoint ClearGauge for ongoing advice.
How I approach the work
Before making recommendations, I want to understand what a client is trying to achieve, the constraints they face and the risks that matter most. Evidence should come before opinion. Sometimes the appropriate recommendation is a significant change; sometimes it is to leave suitable arrangements in place.
ClearGauge provides investment and financial planning advice. Where specialist legal, tax, accounting or fiduciary work is needed, I work alongside those professionals.

My ambition is not to build the largest advice business. It is to build one that clients trust enough to recommend to their children.
